Top Ten Trucker Movies
| When I was a young boy in the mid-late '70s, American society seemed to become enamored with trucker culture. A lot of us knew the CB lingo, many folks added CBs to their vehicles, and kids on field trips would crank their arms out the school bus windows as we passed by truckers in hopes of getting them to give a couple tugs on their lanyards and give us a blast of their air horn (which they usually would). I think that the movie industry portrayed this well for us with such movies as Smokey and the Bandit and Convoy and brought us the genre of 'Trucker Movie'. They might not be for everyone, but I still have a fond place in my heart for them and for my childhood memories that they remind me of when I watch these films. |
